SmartDie Intel486 Processor Overview SmartDie Intel486 Processor Linecard Ordering Information User's Guide SmartDie & Products Main Page General Product Overviews High Performance Intel486 Processor Ultra Low-Power Intel486 Processors SmartDie® Intel486™ Processor Overview The SmartDie® Intel486 product line is targeted toward high performance and lower power mobile embedded computing applications which are typically subject to form factor constraints. Applications include PC cards with PC AT functionality, personal digital assistants, and handy terminals. The SmartDie Intel486 product line includes the DX4 processor for high performance applications and the ultra-low power (ULP) Intel486 SX and GX processors. The ULP Intel486 SX and GX processors are ideal for high performance hand-held and battery operated applications. These processors allow up to a 50% power reduction compared to the Intel486 SX processor. Power reduction is achieved through a split power supply. The ULP Intel486 SX processor implements the full 32-bit architecture. The ULP Intel486 GX processor has a 32-bit core and 16-bit external data bus for the greatest power reductions.
